"Youthful Skin. Reduced Lines. Glowing Results."

Looking youthful is a goal that many people have in common. The appearance of lines and wrinkles or a reduction in facial volume can leave the face looking aged, tired, and the very opposite of youthful. As a non-surgical, non-invasive way to improve the appearance of your skin, injectables can restore your youthful glow. Dr. Straka’s office offers a variety of injectables so you can meet your desired aesthetic goals.

What Can Injectables Treat?

Fine Lines and Wrinkles

As you age, fine lines and wrinkles become more prominent on your face. From forehead lines to crow’s feet around your eyes, lines and wrinkles can make you look older than you truly are or feel. Each injectable works differently to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Some work by relaxing muscles that cause wrinkling. Others work by restoring volume, which smooths out the skin and reduces lines and wrinkles.

Loss of Facial Volume

During the aging process, the body decreases the production of cells that give volume to the face. This volume loss can be apparent around the eyes and in the cheeks, causing the eyes and cheeks to look sunken and gaunt. The structure and shape of the face can change. Certain injectables are able to restore lost volume, plump up your cheeks, and refresh your tired-looking eyes.

Thin or Wrinkled Lips

In addition to restoring lost volume in the cheeks, injectables can also augment the lips. The lips often lose volume due to aging, and some may be naturally flat and thin. A skilled injectable practitioner can provide lip enhancement treatment to achieve your desired results without looking overdone.

Your Injectables Options

Multiple injectables are available, and the appropriate one(s) for your concerns can be determined during your consultation. During this initial appointment, your treatment goals will be reviewed. An examination of your facial anatomy will be performed, and a discussion of your concerns will be carried out in order to determine which injectable is best for you.

BOTOX Cosmetic®

BOTOX Cosmetic® is made from purified botulinum toxin A. It works to counteract forehead lines, wrinkles between the brows, and crow’s feet that develop after years of muscle contractions. BOTOX Cosmetic® is injected into the targeted muscles to relax them and prevent them from causing the wrinkles, which allows the skin to smooth out. The treatment takes approximately 10 minutes, and results can last up to 4 months.

Dysport® is an injectable made from botulinum toxin A that helps minimize moderate to severe lines between the eyebrows. These lines are caused by repetitive muscle movements rather than simply being age-related. An injection is made into 5 points around and between the eyebrows. These injections will prevent the muscle contractions that cause facial lines while allowing the rest of the face to move naturally. Treatment can take anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes, and results will last up to 4 months.

Restylane® is a dermal filler made of hyaluronic acid, a substance that occurs naturally in your body that helps maintain skin health. It is used to smooth away wrinkles and folds and to enhance volume in the lips. Results can last up to 18 months.

Restylane® Silk

Restylane® Silk is also composed of hyaluronic acid, but this formulation targets the mouth area. It provides lip augmentation for those looking to plump their lips and also works to minimize wrinkles around the mouth. Results can last up to 6 months.

You can generally return to your normal activities immediately after your treatment. It is recommended to avoid strenuous activities for 24 to 48 hours to minimize any swelling or bruising.

Injectables are a non-invasive treatment and do not leave scars behind.

The final cost of your injectable treatment will depend on the injectable used, the size of the treatment area, and the number of injections needed. During your consultation, you will be provided with a clear estimate of the cost of treatment. Our office offers financing options through CareCredit®.

You may experience slight soreness at your injection site. This is typically mild and will subside quickly.

Injectables are a low-risk cosmetic procedure, but there are some possible side effects to watch out for. There is a chance of infection at injection sites, and allergic reactions are possible. Some other side effects can include itching, swelling, redness, and tenderness at the injection site.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often will I need to return for treatment?

No injectable provides permanent results. A treatment plan specific to your needs and treatment goals will outline how often you should return for retreatment. It depends on factors such as which injectable formulation you use, the number of treatment sites, and the severity of the condition being treated.

When can I resume my regular daily activities?

Injectables are a non-invasive treatment, meaning you will be able to resume your daily activities immediately after you leave the office. You may experience some slight side effects, though these will likely subside quickly and should not prevent you from returning to your daily routine.

Why is it important to hire a practitioner skilled in injectables?

Precision is required to perform the procedure correctly and achieve natural-looking results. Unskilled practitioners can increase the likelihood of complications due to incorrect injection locations or injecting to the wrong depth.
